UPDATE: The restaurant was re-inspected and passed, though it was faulted for not posting the most recent score in plain view of customers, among other offenses. It received a score of 86/B.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Caribbean restaurant failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting "failure to post most recent inspection score for public view." The previous score, from Sept. 29, was a 78/C.

Mangos Caribbean Restaurant, located at 180 Auburn Ave. NE, scored a 44/U following the Tuesday afternoon evaluation.

Officials also reported dust buildup on vents, missing ceiling tiles and floor tile in disrepair.

According to the report, there was raw chicken stored over juice in a walk-in cooler.

A person who answered the phone at Mangos Friday afternoon said a manager was not immediately available for comment.

Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
