Three people were shot and wounded – two of the critically – when multiple shots were fired at the car they were sitting in on the 1900 block of Glenfair Road in DeKalb County, police told Channel 2 Action News.

The incident happened about 3 p.m. behind the Olde English Inn, according to DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish. Someone outside the car opened fire on its four occupants, and three were hit.

“Two of the shooting victims got out of the car and ran to Glenmar Road, where they called police,” Parish told Channel 2 in an email.

Parish did not have a description of the alleged assailants nor a motive for the attack as of Friday afternoon.

The incident was the second in as many days involving people injured by gunfire on a DeKalb street.

Thursday afternoon, one man was critically wounded after he and another man exchanged gunshots on the 4900 block of Memorial Drive, police said.

DeKalb police received a call about 2:45 p.m. that an argument between two men had escalated, with the two pulling out weapons and exchanging gunfire, Parish said.

One man was shot and was taken to a local hospital; the other man fled, and police did not know if he, too, had been hit.
