A designated driver booth is being created by TEAM Georgia at the Georgia Dome in honor of the late Captain Herb Emory.

Every morning and afternoon, millions of WSB listeners and viewers relied on Capt. Herb Emory to help them navigate Atlanta's roadways. Emory, one of the Safe and Sober Driving Coalition's founding board members, was known and loved for his dedicated help guiding motorists through Atlanta's crowded, confusing and frequently stop-and-go streets. He died of a massive heart attack around 3:30 p.m. April 12 at the age of 62.

“It is more than appropriate that TEAM Georgia formally name a designated driver booth at the Georgia Dome in his honor,” TEAM Georgia Chairman Ron Fennel said in an emailed statement. “We hope through this action, his tireless community service will live on and make our community’s roads a safer place for everyone.”

The booth, according to the TEAM Georgia press release, is being sponsored by Mr. Allan Vigil, the Dealer Principal of Allan Vigil Ford Lincoln of Morrow and CFO of Allan Vigil Ford of Fayetteville who noted both the fun and the danger of driving.

“We are proud to support a program that will help empower individuals to make smart driving decisions,” he said in the statement.

In addition to the booth at the Georgia Dome, TEAM Georgia booths are located at several major Atlanta locations including Philips Arena, Gwinnett Arena and Turner Field.
