A temporary, weekend traffic shift to allow construction crews to work on a bridge column will affect southbound motorists on Ga. 400 in the Perimeter area, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.

The shift, part of the continuing reconstruction of the Ga. 400/I-285 interchange in North Fulton and DeKalb counties, is planned for 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday through Monday, Oct. 18-21 and Nov. 1-4, according to a GDOT announcement.

Southbound Ga. 400 will be reduced from three lanes to two between Hammond Drive and I-285, returning to three lanes south of I-285. Motorists planning to exit to westbound I-285 should use the right lane, and motorists heading straight ahead or exiting to eastbound I-285 should use the left lanes, GDOT said.
