The Braves Bridge will receive more funding but not from the county.

These decisions were made in a 5-0 vote Tuesday by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

The Galleria Authority will pay $104,781 for the installation of an elevator near the bridge tie-in to its parking structure.

The Cumberland Community Improvement District will pay $449,128 for the bridge to be completed by April 1 to pay for more manpower, equipment, supervision, overtime and overhead expenses.

This extra amount brings the total construction cost to $10,534,537 with Northwest Express Roadbuilders as the contractor.

Funding is from not only the Cumberland CID but also the Federal Transit Administration, the Atlanta Braves and the Cumberland Special Service District 1 Fund.

The 1,110-foot I-285 Multi-Use Bridge will span between SunTrust Park and Galleria Drive, I-285 and Circle 75 Parkway for pedestrians and buses.
