Mark Beal was named the 2019 Big Brother of the Year and Blake Washington was named the 2019 Big Sister of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sister of Metro Atlanta.

Markus Terry of Alpharetta earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of South Carolina Aiken in December.

LaTashia Myles of Lithonia graduated from Illinois Central College, East Peoria, Ill., with an Associate in Arts Degree.

Robert D'Elena of Alpharetta earned a Master of Arts in Linguistics: Forensic Linguistics and Chandler Smith of Alpharetta earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Hofstra University in December.

Bob Jones University student Daniel Hudson, a junior French major from Lilburn, was presented with a 2019 Excellence in French Award from the American Association of Teachers of French at the Feb. 25 meeting of language majors.

Nichole Ogojiaku of Marietta, along with two other fourth-year medical students at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, recently completed a mission trip to Mandeville, Jamaica led by GCSOM faculty member, Dr. F. Dennis Dawgert.
