Atlanta police are investigating the discovery of a body Wednesday morning in a wooded area near the intersection of Metropolitan Parkway and University Avenue.
The body was found near railroad tracks shortly after 9 a.m.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office would perform an autopsy to determine how the person died.
Police have not released the gender, approximate age or identity of the body.
