Gwinnett County police have identified a body found Sunday afternoon outside a Gwinnett County apartment complex.
Police identified the body as that of Darinel Martinez Lopez, 26, of Duluth. The cause of Lopez’s death is unknown at this time, but police said they plan to investigate the case as a homicide for now.
Investigators were called to the Landmark at Bella Vista apartments in the 4000 block of Satellite Boulevard, near Duluth, around 3 p.m., Cpl. T.R. Tobler with Gwinnett police said. A person walking in the area found Lopez in green space between the complex and Satellite Boulevard, Tobler said.
“The case remains active as leads are being followed,” Tobler said in an emailed statement.
No further details were available Monday afternoon.
