Investigators have identified the body of a man found in a Newton County creek and ruled his death a homicide.

A fisherman discovered the body of of 55-year-old Timothy Clements of Conyers on Friday afternoon in Snapping Shoals Creek near Ga. 212. The GBI conducted an autopsy Saturday morning and determined he was murdered, though investigators didn't release the manner of death. The Newton County Sheriff's Office and the GBI are investigating the case.

The victim, who was identified by his dental records, was reported missing by his family on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Clements, a landscaper, was last seen when he left for work on Thursday morning. His truck, a red 1991 Ford F150 with Georgia tag 955BJR, is missing.

The creek where the body was found is about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta in the southern part of Newton County, just north of the Henry County line.
