For the second time in a week and the sixth time this year, a person has died at Lake Lanier.

Arie Elek, 34, of Rockville, Maryland was found dead in Bald Ridge Creek on Lake Lanier on Sunday, Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesman Mark McKinnon said.

Elek was tubing behind a boat when he died, but it is not known what caused the death.

The investigation is ongoing. McKinnon said no charges have been filed at this time.

Last week, witnesses saw Robert St. Louis of Snellville drown.

Since 1994, there have been at least 143 deaths at the lake, according to the Department of Natural Resources. This year's incidents are not included in that number.
