Body found in Lake Lanier belongs to a woman

May 28, 2016A body was found in Lake Lanier within the same vicinity crews were searching for Lizeth Ruby Ruiz, Gainesville police said.
Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said a group of boaters found the body off shore about 4 p.m. Police have not said if this is the body of Ruiz, who went missing May 18, but did say the body belonged to a woman.
Crews suspended the search for Ruiz Friday evening and decided to focus on the investigation, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Foul play is not suspected in her disappearance
An autopsy will be performed next week, Channel 2 Action News reported.
No other details were released.
