The concept of an aviation park at Cobb County International Airport - McCollum Field has been approved by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners and by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Next steps include board approval for the final concept design and agreements for construction and operation.

The three-acre park will be built by the Town Center Community Improvement District at the corner of Barrett Lakes and Cobb Place Boulevards.

Not only will this park serve as an observation area for the public to view the arrival and departure of aircraft but as a trailhead for Noonday Creek Trail.

The TCCID will secure all of the funding for design and construction through donations and TCCID-allocated funding.

Once completed, the Cobb County P.A.R.K.S. Department will maintain the park.
