In a pleasant turn from last weekend’s snow flurries and chilly temperatures, expect the kind of sunny skies and warm weather this weekend that usually doesn’t reach metro Atlanta until March.
Just be sure to check the traffic before making plans to venture outdoors in some areas.
Construction, sign work and a packed concert and game schedule will lead to weekend delays.
Here’s what you need to remember to avoid the work zone backups:
Construction in the I-285 eastbound collector distributor lanes will require traffic to slow down between Cobb Parkway to the I-75 interchange anytime from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One southbound lane on I-75 will close over Barrett Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One northbound lane on I-75 will also close between Barrett Parkway and Chastain Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Two northbound lanes on I-75 will close between SR 280/Delk Road and Windy Hill Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
One southbound lane on I-75 will close between SR 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway and SR 280/ Delk Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
One southbound lane on the I-75 on-ramp will close from SR 280/Delk Road and the on-ramp from the Canton Connector from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
A traffic detour will take place on the I-75 southbound exit ramp to SR 280/Delk Road from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
One southbound lane on I-75 will close at SR 280/Delk Road from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
A traffic pace on I-575 will slow down traffic traveling on all northbound and southbound lanes between Bells Ferry Road and SR 92/Alabama Road from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
A flagging operation will take place on Bells Ferry Road under I-75 between Manuel Drive and Bells Ferry Lane from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
One northbound lane and shoulder on I-675 will close at SR 138/ Stockbridge Road from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday due to work on the South Metro Express Lanes.
Rolling lane closures will take place on I-75/I-85 (Downtown Connector) southbound between University Avenue and the Brookwood Split from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for road pavement.
One lane on Atlanta Road will close from 9 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday. Law enforcement will help traffic flow.
One westbound lane on I-285 will close between SR 279/ Old National Highway and the I-85 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Two lanes on I-285 will close from the westbound ramp to I-85 northbound from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for concrete repairs. Traffic will be detoured to the Pleasantdale Road exit and merge onto I-85 northbound.
Sign structure work will also result in lane closures this weekend.
One northbound and one southbound lane on I-75 will close between SR 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway and SR 120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Two westbound and one eastbound lane on I-285 will close at Bouldercrest Road from 9 p.m., Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Two westbound lanes on I-285 will close between SR 139/Riverdale Road and the I-85 interchange from noon Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for sign work.
Sign structure work on I-285 will require one westbound lane to close at SR 54/Jonesboro Road from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
On I-20, one eastbound lane and the shoulder will close between SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard and the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Also on I-20, two eastbound lanes will close between SR 139/ Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday.
One lane will close on SR 237/Piedmont Road at Habersham Road from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Film crews will shoot a movie on SR 139/Ralph David Abernathy between Laurel Avenue to Inman Street from 9 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

Weekend to see warm temps and clear skies
Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton is forecasting sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s Saturday and Sunday.
Afternoon highs will be in the low-60s Saturday and the mid-60s Sunday, with morning lows in the high 30s Saturday and mid-40s Sunday.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis come to town this weekend
Macklemore and Lewis will perform beginning at 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Theatre. The Honda Battle of the Bands will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Georgia Dome. The Atlanta Gladiators will play the Idaho Steelheads Friday at 7:35 p.m., Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m. at Infinite Energy Center in Gwinnett County.
