Keep your windbreaker handy as you head out for work or school on Monday.
The frosty air that blew in on Sunday will stick around for a few days, notes Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz. Sunday's 20 to 40 mph northwest winds caused the weather service to issues a wind advisory until 8 p.m.
"With clear skies overnight, the temperature will drop into the low 40s in Atlanta and a few colder suburbs will reach the upper 30s," said Nitz. "We’ll be sunny and windy again Monday with highs in the low 60s.
It will be even colder by Tuesday morning, with upper 30s in Atlanta, but mid 30s and patchy frost north of the city. The high will reach be 65, Nitz said.
But don't expect to need that windbreaker all week.
"We’ll jump back into the mid 70s by Wednesday and near 80 Thursday," Nitz said. "Thursday will also bring our next chance of rain," he added.
