Temperatures dipped into the low-30s across  parts of metro Atlanta before daybreak Thursday, but warmer weather is forecast for the weekend.

A frost advisory remained in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday for areas of the state from Macon northward, while the mountain counties were under a freeze warning until10.

Readings at 7 a.m. included 32 degrees in Cartersville and Alpharetta, 33 in Peachtree City and 38 in Marietta. A couple of spots were still in the low 40s, including Chamblee and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which both reported 41 degrees at 7 a.m.

In the mountains, Blairsville recorded a low of 27 degrees.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said temperatures would only warm into the mid-60s on Thursday before falling back into the low 40s in town and upper 30s in the outer suburbs Thursday night.

Friday will be sunny and a little warmer, with highs in the low 70s.

Minton's weekend forecast is for plenty of sunshine, with highs in the mid-70s and lows in the 50s.

By Monday, highs will be approaching 80 degrees, she said.

Atlanta's normal high for mid-April is 71, the normal low 50.
