Temperatures dipped into the upper 40s and low 50s across metro Atlanta early Monday, and readings early Tuesday are expected to be even cooler.
Morning lows Monday included 49 in Dunwoody and Alpharetta, 50 in downtown Atlanta and 51 in Marietta, Chamblee and Peachtree City. Atlanta’s official thermometer at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, in south Fulton, recorded a low of 52.
Normal low for Oct. 8 is 57, the normal high 75.
Monday afternoon’s high will also be several degrees below that normal mark, topping out around 63 degrees, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton predicted.
Minton said there’s a slight chance of a passing shower on Monday. National Weather Service radar showed light rain moving into the northwest corner of the state at 8 a.m.
Lows early Tuesday will likely be in the mid- to upper 40s throughout metro Atlanta, but highs on Tuesday should climb back to around 70 degrees, Minton said.
Minton said the rest of the week should be dry, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
