A few more showers will move through the metro Atlanta area overnight, but sunshine is right around the corner.

The area picked up .44 inches of rain Wednesday, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Thursday will see increasing sunshine with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, he said.

Clouds are expected to increase Friday with highs reaching the mid-60s.

Then the chances of rain pick up for the next three days.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain Saturday, with highs in the low 60s and lows in the high 40s.

There are possible thunderstorms in Sunday's forecast, with a 60 percent chance of rain and highs in the low 60s.

Monday, the chance of rain drops to 40 percent, and highs are expected to reach the high 50s, with lows in the 40s.
