Metro Atlanta's early week weather will be a lot like the weekend's -- plenty of sunshine with cool mornings and warm afternoons. But clouds and rain will be moving in by mid-week.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is forecasting increasing cloudiness on Wednesday, with a 40 percent chance of rain by late in the day.

Until then, skies will be sunny, with highs Monday and Tuesday in the low 70s, and overnight lows around 50 degrees.

Normal high for this time of the year is 67 degrees, with lows normally in the upper 40s.

Wednesday's rain will be short-lived, as Minton is again forecasting sunny skies for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures behind the rain will be cooler, topping out in the upper 50s, with lows in the upper 30s by week's end.
