Metro Atlanta can expect to continue to bask in the glow of the unseasonably warm, and lovely Spring weather.

Warm sunshine was all that greeted metro Atlanta Sunday, with a high of 83.  The record high for April 1 is 85, set in 1940. The low was 58 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to continue well above average, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz.

"The first week of April lows average 48, highs 69, but we’ll be about 15 degrees above those readings," Nitz said.

The high Monday could reach 86 under partly cloudy skies, before the temperature drops ahead of showers that are expected to return Tuesday and Wednesday.

By midweek scattered storms return and temperatures drop but only to the upper 70s-low 80s, Nitz said. The long range look at Easter weekend calls for partly cloudy skies with afternoon temperatures in the mid 70s. said metro Atlanta will be "picking up some scattered storms but still warm Tuesday and Wednesday."  The lows will be in the low 60s.
