Give yourself plenty of extra time for the Wednesday morning commute. You're going to need it.

Heavy rain is expected during rush hour, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Light to moderate rain lingered in the metro Atlanta area Tuesday, and another weather system moving across Alabama is expected to bring more rain and thunderstorms early Wednesday. The best chance of rain Wednesday morning for the metro area will be between 5 and 8, meteorologist David Chandley said.

There is an 80 percent chance of rain Wednesday, with high temperatures in the upper 50s, Burns said.

Sunshine should return Thursday, with highs in the upper 50s, Burns said. But after a front moves through, there will be a noticeable change, with a high temperature of only 45 degrees expected Friday, he said.
