Tuesday started out gray but quickly turned a bright shade of blue.

A dense fog advisory was in effect until 10 a.m.,  but by lunchtime skies were  sunny and the clear skies will carry through to the evening, Channel 2 Action News chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said. The high will be 64 degrees; the average for this time of year is 53, he said.

The metro Atlanta area picked up an inch of rain Monday, Burns said.

Tuesday will be the nicest day of the next four or five days, he said. Then rain returns to the forecast.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain Wednesday with a high of 63 and a low of 44, he said.

Thursday will bring a 60 percent chance of rain, which drops to a 40 percent chance on Friday. Both days, highs will be in the mid 60s and lows in the low to mid 50s.
