The widespread fog that dropped visibility to a quarter-mile in parts of metro Atlanta early Monday has lifted, leaving mostly sunny afternoon skies, but an approaching cold front will bring light rain and drizzle early in the day on Tuesday.

“We’ll stay mostly clear into the evening hours,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said, adding that highs Monday afternoon will be around 76 degrees.

He said clouds will be thickening by midnight, followed by a 30 percent chance of showers during the early hours of Tuesday.

Wednesday through Friday should be mostly sunny and dry, according to Nitz.

Highs will stay in the mid-70s the rest of the week, with lows mostly in the low 50s. A few areas could see temperatures in the upper 40s later in the week.
