Atlanta weather | Chilly mornings ahead

The mercury dipped into the 30s across metro Atlanta before daybreak Thursday, and forecasters are predicting even colder temperatures by early Saturday.

Friday morning’s low is expected to be 39 degrees, followed by 37 degrees on Saturday before rebounding to a low of 44 on Sunday morning, according to the Channel 2 Weather Team.

Weekend high temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s, up from Friday’s expected high of 54. Sunny skies are in the forecast.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for all of metro Atlanta and points northward for late Friday night through Saturday morning. A frost advisory is in effect Friday morning for the northern suburbs.
