The Atlanta Regional Commission announced Tuesday the recipients of their latest round of Livable Centers Initiative grants. Among the nine local governments awarded a total of $800,000 in study grants and $12 million in implementation grants, the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District will receive a $100,000 supplemental grant.
The $100,000 grant will be used to update the Indian Trail Road LCI study, which was originally done in 2006. The process will include review of the existing plan, updated market analysis, development of land use and transportation priorities as well as an implementation strategy. The final study will serve as a guiding document for land-use, mobility enhancements and capital improvement programs in the corridor for the next decade.
The LCI program is funded with federal transportation dollars. The grants provide 80 percent of funding for each study or transportation project, with the recipient making a 20 percent match.
