Champagne bottles are lining shelves and resolutions are being made.  New Year's Eve is right around the corner. If you've been trying to nail down your plans, we have some good news for those in Atlanta: You can stay put. Atlanta has been ranked the third best city in the U.S. to ring in 2016

WalletHub, a personal finance resource, has ranked the 100 biggest cities on celebrate New Year's Eve.  The analysis looks across 17 metrics from three categories: entertainment and food, costs (of food and drink and lodging) and safety and accessibility.

Atlanta was ranked first in the entertainment and food category. According to the study, Atlanta is tied with Miami as having the most restaurants per 100,000 residents. The city also ranked No. 5 for best luxury shopping.

On the other end of the spectrum, Atlanta was ranked at the bottom for costs and safety and accessibility (a category which measured walkability, congestion forecasted precipitation for Dec. 31 and crime rate). The city came in at 90 and 95 in those categories, respectively.

Orlando was ranked as the No. 1  place to say goodbye to 2015. San Francisco, San Diego and Scottsdale rounded out the rest of the top five.
