Officers in search of job opportunities can try their luck at the Atlanta Police Department’s hiring event this week.
APD is looking to hire officers at its recruiting event on Wednesday at the city’s public safety headquarters on 226 Peachtree Street.
The department wants to hire 200 officers this year.
Potential candidates must arrive by 10 a.m. for interviews and be professionally dressed.

Candidates are encouraged to bring copies of their high school diploma, transcripts or G.E.D. certificate, Social Security card, birth certificate, driver’s license, two “passport style” photographs.
Applicants are also encouraged to bring a copy of their driver’s record, including the seven-year history transcript from the Department of Motor Vehicles in every state in which they have held a driver’s license.
Applicants should arrive early and expect to stay a few hours.
Another hiring event will be held Saturday, July 27, at 9 a.m. at the Atlanta Police Academy located at 180 Southside Industrial Parkway.
