Atlanta police officer hit by DUI suspect

A police officer was injured early Sunday when his vehicle was hit by a suspected drunk driver on the Downtown Connector.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on I-75/85 near University Avenue. Traffic was backed up for hours, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for a precautionary examination, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said.
No other information was immediately available.
