Atlanta police made eight arrests inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium during the College Football Playoff National Championship, police said.
Three of the arrests were related to two separate fights. The other five involved people trying to access the game with counterfeit credentials.

There were “no major incidents,” police said, but a “small handful” of reports were made regarding incidents such as thefts from vehicles and suspicious packages — none of which were deemed a hazard.
“Overall, we believe event-goers heeded our advice to take public transportation, arrive early to the game and report suspicious activity,” the statement said. “We are grateful to the public for ensuring a smooth event and to our many law enforcement partners for the collaboration and planning to pull it off.”
