A 25-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a body found wrapped in fabric and plastic last month, Atlanta police said.
Wayne Sederrious Welbon is charged with murder in the death of Taurean Reeves, whose body was discovered in northwest Atlanta on Feb. 22 after police received a tip.
Investigators searched the area of Brooks and Ada avenues and found a body west of Ada in a wooded area, according to the police report. The body was wrapped in “both a piece of fabric or blanket and clear, heavy-gauge pastic sheeting,” the report said.
An investigator from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said it appeared the victim had been shot multiple times.
A warrant for Welbon’s arrest was issued March 9. He was located by the Atlanta Police Fugitive Unit and the FBI Atlanta Metropolitan Major Offenders Task Force in Cobb County and arrested during a traffic stop.
He is being held at the Fulton County Jail.
