Atlanta lawyer surrenders law license

The Georgia Supreme Court has accepted Atlanta lawyer Thomas W. Dickson’s voluntary surrender of his license to practice law.

On Monday, the court said Dickson admitted repeatedly directing his law firm’s accounting department to transfer funds from its trust account to his personal account, when he did not have the firm’s or his clients’ permission to do so. Dickson also failed to properly account for the transfers, the opinion said, noting Dickson’s surrender of his license was the same as being disbarred.
