Atlanta holding free scrap tire drive
Getting rid of scrap tires eliminates mosquito breeding grounds.
The Atlanta City Council, the Keep Atlanta Beautiful Commission and the department of public works are holding a free scrap tire drive on select dates through April 29. Getting rid of scrap tires helps eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.
There are a few parameters:
- Only car tires and light duty truck tires will be accepted
- Tires with rims and large truck tires are not accepted
- No commercial businesses
- Unlimited tires for city of Atlanta residents
According to the department of public works’ Facebook page, times and locations on April 22 include 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 M.L.K. Jr. Dr., among others.
