Gwinnett Commissioners recently approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Atlanta Hawks Foundation, Inc. and the county for the renovation of spaces at Lucky Shoals Park, 4651 Britt Road in Norcross.

The foundation will cover all the costs associated with providing a new court surface to the outdoor basketball courts and refurbishing an activity room.

The Atlanta Hawks Foundation forges partnerships with local agencies providing opportunities for children interested in youth basketball programs. At no cost to the county, the organization will coordinate all construction activities, including obtaining necessary permits and insurance.

When completed, the Hawks players, coaches, cheerleaders or mascot will participate in a community celebration to unveil the new courts.
