The Atlanta Beltline has announced two closures starting Monday affecting the Eastside Trail – one that will last about a week at the Historic Fourth Ward Park, and the other, for a month in Reynoldstown.

The Gateway Trail connecting the Eastside Trail to the Fourth Ward Park will be closed for about a week for trail modifications by the developers of the North & Line residential project. The suggested detour to and from the park for Beltline users is the North Avenue viaduct under the Beltline.

Separately, the intersection of the Eastside Trail and Kirkwood Avenue in Reynoldstown will be closed until Sept. 21. The suggested vehicular detour is Chester Avenue to Fulton Terrace/Mauldin Street to Gibson Street for eastbound drivers, and the reverse for westbound motorists.

The closure is necessary as contractors rehabilitate an underground stormwater structure, officials said. Also, a speed table will be installed at the trail and Kirkwood as a traffic-crossing measure for a safer crossing.
