Atlanta announces New Year’s Day solid waste collection schedule

The city of Atlanta Department of Public Works reminds customers that garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be collected on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, according to a press release.

All curbside collection services will be delayed one day the remainder of the week. Customers whose regular collection day is Friday will receive solid waste collection services on Saturday, January 5.

Customers are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees on Saturday, January 5 from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. during the Bring One for the Chipper Christmas tree recycling event at participating Home Depot stores and at the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM). A list of locations is available on the Solid Waste web portal at www.atlantaga.gov/solidwaste, and on the ATL Waste mobile app.
