Sometimes, spelling counts.
According to Athens-Clarke County police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow, an officer saw a driver making an illegal right turn around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
The officer stopped the car, and the driver said he didn't have his license with him.
When the officer asked him to spell his first name so he could check his license status, the driver repeated his name and refused to spell it. The officer again asked the man to spell his name and the driver repeated his name in an "aggressive" tone, and refused to spell it again, Sorrow said.
At that point, he was arrested. During a search, a large quantity of cash and three plastic bags containing a green leafy substance were found, Sorrow said. A search of the vehicle revealed a larger quantity of cash.
A field test of the substance was positive for marijuana, she said.
Kenyatta Latroy Campbell, 30, of Athens was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute marijuana, improper turn and no license.
