The latest pair of armed robberies in Atlanta's Midtown led to the arrest of two suspects when police closed in on a hold-up in progress.

Police said they received a call about 11:30 p.m. Sunday about a robbery in the 700 block of Juniper Street. The victim told officers he was walking down the street when four individuals approached and shoved him against a fence.

One suspect held a gun to the victim’s head while the others went through his pockets, taking a wallet and cell phone, police said. The assailants then allegedly punched the victim in his face and head, breaking his nose, before fleeing on foot.

After a call went out about the robbery, other officers spotted four individuals surrounding a man sitting in a vehicle in the 900 block of Piedmont Avenue in Midtown.

That victim told police that one male put a gun to his head while the others went through his pockets, taking his wallet, cell phone and cash. The assailants then punched the victim in the face and began walking away.

Police moved in and arrested two males; the other two got away.

One of the apprehended suspects had what appeared to be a real handgun, but the weapon turned out to be a BB gun, police said. The second male had the first victim’s cell phone.

Talon Bradley, 23, and the other suspect, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, were charged with aggravated battery, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.

Police said it was unknown if the suspects were connected to an earlier robbery in Midtown, about 5 a.m.  July 23, in which two men with handguns approached a couple in a vehicle pulling into a parking garage in the 900 block of Juniper Street.

The bandits took the man’s wallet and the woman’s purse and watch, and then shot the man in the arm, police said. The man was taken in stable condition to Grady Memorial Hospital.
