A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday for a fatal hit-and-run incident last week in Marietta.

Tanner Lee Bertram of Acworth turned himself in to police and was taken to the Cobb County Jail, where he will be charged with felony hit-and-run and second degree vehicular homicide, Marietta police spokesman Officer David Baldwin said.

Bertram is accused of striking and killing 20-year-old Matthew Tyner of Marietta early Friday.

The incident happened on North Marietta Parkway between Wallace Road and Interstate 75 around 3:10 a.m.

Police said Tyner was walking westbound on the parkway in the far right lane when he was hit from behind by a vehicle that left the scene. He was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
