A Fayetteville resident shot an armed intruder Thursday afternoon Aug. 6. Fayetteville Lt. Mike Whitlow said that a man at 130 Windridge Dr. reported that a white male suspect with a handgun had breached a door to the home’s garage just before 3 p.m. The resident retrieved his own handgun and shot the suspect four times after the intruder forced his way into the home. The suspect was taken to Grady Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
