Aug 15, 2013The Georgia Department of Education is encouraging high school students in Atlanta Public Schools to apply for this year’s Student Advisory Council.
Applications will be accepted through Sept. 13 for the council, whose members will meet with State School Superintendent John Barge three times during the school year.
Student Advisory Council members will discuss with the superintendent how state-level decisions affect students, and they’ll act as liaisons between the DOE and their schools.
Students interested in applying should contact Ron Culver by email at rculver@doe.k12.ga.us.
