Appeals court rules against former Gwinnett commissioner

The Georgia Court of Appeals has denied former Gwinnett County Commissioner Kevin Kenerly’s motion to quash an indictment against him on bribery charges.

Kenerly was first indicted in October 2010 on allegations that he accepted $1 million to secure the County Commission’s approval of a land purchase benefiting developer David Jenkins. Kenerly, who suspended himself from the commission in November 2010, denies the bribery charge.

The Court of Appeals upheld a Gwinnett Superior Court ruling in December, when a judge denied Kenerly’s request to have the charges against him dismissed.

Details are forthcoming on MyAJC.com and in Tuesday’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
