A man meeting someone to buy an Apple laptop was shot at multiple times in southwest Atlanta, police said.

The supposed seller, using the LetGo application under the username Rick Anderson, suggested the meetup location in the 600 block of Utoy Circle S.W. The advertised sale price for the computer was $100.

When the victim arrived on Aug. 12, two men, who looked to be 15 to 17 years of age, came from behind a house and approached his car with a laptop. After the victim requested that the exchange of money and laptop happen at the same time, one of the suspects pointed a gun and demanded the cash and his wallet, he told police.

The victim tried to grab his gun in self-defense but the suspect shot at the him, striking the car twice, police said. The victim jumped out of his car and began chasing the two suspects, while exchanging gunfire.

Police found the suspect’s gun, the laptop and the victim’s money, but they did not find the teens.

Any information on the case can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-8477, online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting CSA and the tip to 274637. Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
