Alpharetta residents will be able to learn about and comment on plans for a major renovation of the City Pool at Wills Park at an open house set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at City Hall.

Voters approved a bond referendum in May that included $4 million to renovate and enhance the Wills Park public swimming pool at 1815 Old Milton Pkwy. The pool was constructed in 1987 and has not been updated since then.

Plans call for the construction of a new competition pool, new leisure pool, three pavilions and other amenities, officials said. The bath house and showers will be renovated, and there will be a training room for lifeguards and improvements to the registration and guest circulation areas.

The Wills Park pool is an Olympic-sized facility with three diving boards, 2,000-square-foot “Splash Zone” and a concession area.
