An Alpharetta man accused of superimposing the faces of local children on lewd images has agreed to plead guilty to 21 federal counts of possession of child pornography, Channel 2 Action News reports.

Dirk LaPaglia, 53, is scheduled to enter his plea Oct. 7 before Senior U.S. District Judge Orinda Evans, according to documents filed in connection with the case in federal court, Atlanta.

The defendant, who volunteered to photograph neighborhood functions such as swim meets and fall festivals, previously pleaded not guilty in the case.

Johns Creek police were alerted to LaPaglia after he was accused of stalking a minor child, anonymously sending suggestive packages, an FBI spokesman has said. He was charged with stalking on April 15.

LaPaglia had an initial appearance in federal court Sept. 1 and was released on bond secured by his home. He is staying at his brother’s residence in Indianapolis and can travel about the country on business, with the permission of federal authorities, court documents show.

Parents concerned about their children's pictures being included among the hundreds LaPaglia is alleged to have possessed should contact the FBI.
