The Alpharetta City Council has approved a five-year non-exclusive contract to have two Cobb County vendors supply uniforms and duty gear for fire, police, rescue, E-911 and other specialty, reserve and volunteer personnel.
Galls LLC and Smyrna Police Distributors were among four companies that responded to a request for proposals by the Public Safety and Finance departments; two vendors were deemed non-responsive.
The Public Safety Department recommended a contract with both companies “to ensure competitive pricing and alternative supply sources. The department has worked with both vendors and is impressed with their service delivery and the quality of their products.”
Public safety uniforms are budgeted at $146,700 in the FY 2018 budget.
Galls has a primary distribution center in Lexington, Ky.; its local sales office on South Marietta Parkway in Marietta formerly was Red the Uniform Tailor, which Galls recently acquired. Smyrna Police Distributors is on South Cobb Drive in Smyrna.
