Police have identified a man killed on Ga. 53 in Gainesville on Wednesday as 62-year-old Terry Rettig of Alpharetta.

Rettig died when his 1981 Isuzu Pup pickup truck crossed the center line on Dawsonville Highway near Porter Lane around 2:45 p.m. and collided head-on with a fuel tanker truck, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the tanker truck was not injured.

According to Forsyth Investigator Ron Tomblin, drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the wreck and no charges will be filed. They continue to investigate what caused Rettig to cross the center line.
