Reversing a decision made in June, Milton will now charge Alpharetta families out-of-city fees to participate in a youth football program.

The Milton City Council approved an amended agreement with the North Atlanta Football League in which the league will pay Milton a 15 percent commission on registration fees, and Alpharetta residents also will be charged an out-of-city fee of $90 per registration, to be paid directly to Milton.

Milton council members on June 3 approved a youth football program to be shared by Milton and Alpharetta, with out-of-city fees waived for residents of both communities. Since then, Milton staff said in a report to the council, “Alpharetta declined to participate in the shared program provider arrangement, thus requiring this addendum.”

The North Atlanta Football League will provide youth tackle football, flag football and cheerleading programs.

Earlier this year, Milton and Alpharetta allowed a 2012 agreement to lapse that had waived non-resident fees when registering for each others’ park programs.
