Alpharetta City Council recently approved rezoning for a home building project on Webb Bridge Road, despite opposition from a number of neighbors.

More than a dozen residents spoke out Monday night against Oak Hall Partners’ plan to build 42 single-family detached homes between Shirley Bridge Road and Lake Windward Drive, saying they feared it would worsen traffic.

Council members told protesting residents they’re cognizant of traffic issues there and will seek input for a plan to improve traffic flow along the corridor.

The council also denied 4-3 a rezoning request that would have allowed Hotel Development Partners LLC to build a maximum six-story Courtyard by Marriott hotel along Amber Park Drive in the Parkway 400 Master Plan area. City officials said that with several hotel proposals already working their way through the city’s approval process, they feared overbuilding.
