The Alpharetta City Council has approved a three-way real estate deal involving a local landowner and the Fulton County Board of Education so that planned improvements to Kimball Bridge Road can proceed.

The city is paying $75,000 to the Fulton County schools for 1.8 acres, according to a staff report to the council. The land is near New Prospect Elementary School, 3055 Kimball Bridge.

Courtenay Partners Inc. intends to pay the city $75,000 for the tract, which would give it access to Rock Mill Road from its property on the corner of North Point Parkway and Kimball Bridge, staff said. Meanwhile, the city is paying Courtenay $35,302 for two small pieces of right-of-way and two temporary construction easements for the Kimball Bridge roadwork.

Courtenay asked that the transactions be bundled together, staff said, with the land owner paying the city $39,698 – $75,000 minus the $35,302 – and the council agreed.
