The suspect in the August school shooting at the Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy was indicted Thursday by a DeKalb County grand jury.

The grand jury handed down a 13-count indictment against Michael Brandon Hill at 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

Among the charges Hill faces are aggravated assault on a police officer, terroristic threats, false imprisonment and obstruction of an officer.

According to the indictment, released Friday, Hill “did threaten to commit murder, a crime of violence, with the purpose of causing the evacuation of a building occupied and utilized by McNair Discovery Learning Center.”

No one was injured when Hill, 20, allegedly walked into the school near Decatur, barricaded himself in the front office, and fired shots at responding officers.

The school’s bookkeeper, Antoinette Tuff, was held against her will by Hill, according to the indictment.

Tuff was able to talk Hill into putting down the assault rifle and surrendering during the ordeal, which lasted nearly an hour.
