The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted March 5 to adjust its ordinance allowing the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at certain county park facilities, adding the new Village Park in the northern part of the county.
Previously such activities were only allowed at Nash Farm Park, Heritage Park and the Locust Grove Event Center. The move was made because officials recognized the growing popularity of the new park as a destination area and economic draw, with several requests already made for alcohol-related activities including a permit request for a concert series.
Events at all of these sites will continue to have several conditions through the special event permitting process and only allow beer and wine sales and consumption.
